I must admit I am not the biggest fan of the raw desserts, they are usually too soggy and lack enough excitement for me to love them and after some not quite happy experiences with them I discovered this gorgeous Raw Vegan Chocolate Nut Fruit Balls recipe. These are a great alternative to the energy bars, they are packed with protein and other amazing nutritious goodies. They are sweet enough without added sugar and unexpectedly, flavourful and tasty and as a free bonus they are incredible easy to make, no special skills are required, and not much time either, you only need food processor or a nut grinder.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Nut Fruit Balls

 

Alternately you can serve them as a raw food vegan breakfast or put some in your child’s or yours food box.

This Raw Vegan Chocolate Nut Fruit Balls recipe is fantastic.

Do not soak anything, just run them in the food processor, until they are fine and mix very well, add the liquid ingredients at the end.

For the dough:

1 cup raw walnuts

1 cup raw hazelnuts

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup almond flour

1/2 cup raw cocoa butter shredded (this will give it really nice chocolate flavour, you can substitute with real raw, vegan chocolate if you prefer)

1 cup raisins or other dry fruits by your choice

2-3 tbsp maple syrup

2-3 tbsp pineapple or other fruit juice, by your choice, just enough to make it doughy. When you press the mix it shall stick together, if it falls apart, just add a bit more juice, be careful not to add too much as then this really nice raw dessert will turn too soggy.

Hide a surprise inside, you can choose some of these or come with your own ideas:

raisins

raw chocolate drops

raw chocolate butter, cut in small cubes

any other dry fruits cut in small peaces

raw almonds, these will be nicer if you soak and peal them

Form small balls with the size of walnut and hide inside one of the surprises.

When ready, roll the balls, pressing lightly in one of the following – desiccated coconut, cocoa powder, carob or almond flour, I must say that the almond flour was the family’s favourite.

This is a perfect raw vegan recipe for beginners or for kids, they will have fun rolling the balls and will see how quick and easy you can make some really delicious raw food recipes, perfect also to implement bits of the raw vegan diet in your life.

The benefit of the raw food and specifically the raw desserts is not only that they are healthier, but raw vegan recipes are really easy and some of them, like this one are quick to make.
